This contains a table of velocity threshold that correspond with the traditional set and rep schemes for strength, power, hypertophy, and muscular endurance. From there on, a brief explanation of the training concept alongside its justification for its inclusion in progamming can be found. Includes...

Complete summary table of velocity based training thresholds and write a short paragraph on the benefits of using this method in programming
Physical Quality
Threshold (m/s) Adaptations?
Strength-induced (neural,
Absolute Strength <0.5
hormonal and structural)
Hypertrophy-induced (muscular,
Accelerative Strength 0.5-0.75
hormonal)
Strength-speed 0.75-1.0 Power-induced (neural)
Speed-strength 1.0-1.3 Power-induced (neural)
Starting strength 1.3 Muscular endurance
Justification for inclusion of VBT in programming?
The intention to move at maximum effort and the actual movement’s velocity are two variables seen to directly influence training adaptations (Cormie et al., 2011).
As some athletes’ 1RM changes from day-to-day (Gonzalez-Badillo et al., 2010), their effort in performance must also vary as less would be required to perform an exercise
relatively easier than how it might have been before any adaptations have taken place. As such, VBT is able to provide real-time feedback to S+C practitioners via Linear
Positioning Transducers (LPT) to know their athletes’ movement’s velocities – which can help boost motivation of the athlete to express their true maximal effort during
exercise.
Therefore, VBT inclusion during programming can be justified as a means to monitor performance progress (Lorenz et al., 2015).
