Introduction
I picked scenario number two because I have been in this situation, not only with my own
kids but also with my nieces and nephews as well. After reading instructions of what they need
to do and doing research, I try to give them ideas that would help them with the project. They
always want me to do most of the project for them. What I do is encourage them to try it on their
own first and if they need help, I will give the advice and ideas. I tell them to never say they cant
do something when they know that they can complete it and to have confidence.
Definition of the Problem
The problem that I notice in this scenario is all parents go through this at
least one time in their parents lives. They always ask themselves if they should help when ever
they see struggle. Parents should always encourage the child that they can do it on their own and
just step away. This would allow the child to have confidence to be able to complete their project
on their own. What is the child learning if the parent is doing all the work for the child? That will
not teach the child anything but let them know “hey I have my parents to do the work for me”.
The important part to this is to develop of the child, self-confident and in dependent. Also to gain
a full understanding of how to be able to finish something on their own,
Analysis of the Problem
There are many other problems I could have mentioned, but the main problem of
all is that if the parents went through it as a kid and always depended on the parents to do the
work for them, that they would want to do the same for their child or children. Its us a parentsjob
