Nonrenewable vs Renewable Resources

Review the website http://www.conserve-energy-future.com/ and your PowerPoint lectures 9 and 10 to get
an understanding of the differences between nonrenewable and renewable energy resources. Cite at least
one advantage and one disadvantage of using each. Then, reflect on the environmental impacts associated
with nonrenewable energy resource use and select the renewable energy resource you feel would best
reduce our dependence on nonrenewable energy resources. Defend your selection.

Energy Resource Challenges

The Deep Water Horizon oil spill was the largest marine oil spill in US history. It caused extensive damage
to marine and wildlife habitats and to the fishing and tourism industries situated around the Gulf of Mexico.
It is likely that scientists will continue to uncover effects from the oil spill for years to come. Review the
websitehttp://www.eoearth.org/article/Deepwater_Horizon_oil_spill?topic=50364 to read more about the
Deep Water Horizon Oil Spill. The Deep Water Horizon is located in a unique, yet critical environmental
habitat which supports a variety of marine organisms. Do you think that drilling in this area should
continue? Why or why not? When defending your response, cite examples and describe the advantages or
disadvantages of drilling in the Deep Water Horizon

I wanted to write about the oil spill that I think was the worst of all. For me and my thoughts I
think that drilling should continue even though it did cause major damage in it part of nature.
I do feel that offshore drilling is good and both bad it also has it advantage and disadvantages.
Drawback drilling it impossible to tell how much oil is in that certain field that is thousands
of feet in the water surface. Now as for deepwater drilling I think it can be used as a big
example of technology failure. The deep water horizon oil spill was the worst spill in the
United States. It did cause a big effect reaction as today some people think it still not safe to
continue offshore drilling. The effects of the oil spills do effect the natural environment
which cause harm to the water life animals

The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill was one of the worst oil disasters in history. It has caused
some chain reaction within the environment. Drilling may continue because of the oil spill.
The damage the has caused a long term effects on the environment. Significant amounts on
the Gulf floor, and the oil that has already washed into wetlands and beaches will likely
persist for years. It still today an effect on the environment.

Energy is the amount of force or power it takes to move an object from one point to another.
There are renewable and nonrenewable resources that we use on a day to day basis. An
example of nonrenewable resources could be the gas we use to heat our home, and an
example of renewable energy resources could be using windmills to create power. An
advantage of the nonrenewable resources is that it is cheaper to produce, but a disadvantage is
that it damages the environment. An advantage of renewable energy is that it can be recreated
and does not pollute the environment but it can be very expensive which is a disadvantage. I
