Guided Reflection Questions
Opening Questions
How did the simulated experience of Christopher Parrish’s case make you feel?
I felt comfortable with the simulation. The patient was plesent, willing to coporate, and alert. Talk about what went well in the scenario.
I feel that a lot went well with the simulation including the patients willingness to coporate with treatment, ability to discuss treatment, willingness to learn about things that can benifet him moving forward and the ability to understand nutritional needs to maintain a healthy weght and life style. Reflecting on Christopher Parrish’s case, were there any actions you would do differently if you were to repeat this scenario? If so, how would your patient care change? During the teaching I would have liked for the sim to be more of a conversation rather than just the nurs
telling and an answer of okay. If this were a real scenario I would have liked to be able to ask what they know beforehand as well as the amility to ask for examples of foods that are high fat, high caloric that would be approate for the lient to eat that could be used as a va rity. Scenario Analysis Questions
PCCWhat priority problem(s) did you identify for Christopher Parrish?
The priority problems would be poor nutrition and weight loss. The main concern wiould be losing weight without trying because poor nutrition can cause problems such as weakness, fatigue, slowed imuno responces, and increased risk of disease. PCCWhat potential problems could arise due to Christopher Parrish’s identified Vitamin D deficiency?
Vitamin D plays an important role in bone development and skelatol health. His condition of CF can cause this deficiency because CF alters absorption of the GI tract and midigates the absorption of fat-soluable vitamons such as Vitamon D
