characteristics and have well-defined purposes. defined by a set of interrelated concepts,
definitions, and propositions that present a systematic view of events. Theoretical

3. The primary metaparadigms of nursing:Metaparadigms - A metaparadigm is the most
abstract view of a discipline, and it consists of the concepts that define that discipline. In
nursing, the most common metaparadigm concepts are human beings, environment,
health, and nursing. Because it has a metaparadigm, nursing is accurately classified as a
discipline, or “a distinct way of viewing all phenomena.


4. The two primary states in emotional Suffering: Suffering is perceived as comprising two
major behavioral states: enduring (in which emotions are suppressed; it is manifested as
an emotionless state) and emotional suffering (an overt state of distress in which
emotions are released).

reasoning:Deductive reasoning is a basic form of valid reasoning. Deductive reasoning,
or deduction, starts out with a general statement, or hypothesis, and examines the
possibilities to reach a specific, logical conclusion.Deductive reasoning usually follows
steps. First, there is a premise, then a second premise, and finally an inference. A common
form of deductive reasoning is the syllogism, in which two statements — a major premise
and a minor premise — reach a logical conclusion. and explanatory: Theories that
provide explanations about a phenomenon.
7. Tools utilized when attempting to translate theory into practical actions: identifying a
practice problem. Asking questions about the problem. Searching for literature about the
problem. Critically evaluating the literature. Integrating the literature with elements of
evidence-based tools. Evaluating the action of the theory in practice. Disseminating
