Introduction
Depression is a severe psychological illness that includes the body, the attitude, and

thoughts. The illness has widespread effects that affects the normal daily life, normal

functioning, and causes pain to both the individual himself and those who are the caretaker of

him/her. Researchers are still struggling to find the aspects behind its growth and maintenance.

Study has establish that depression many women are affected as compared to men. This

discrepancy demands the devotion of scientists as women attempt to attain a position equivalent

to that of men in the modern civilization. A detailed understanding of possible causes of this

discrepancy is important to the medication of afflicted women.

The publication by the American Psychiatric Association on the Diagnostic and

Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (2013), presents three key depressive disorders that can

be readily distinguished. They are; the Dysthymic Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and

Depressive Disorder (not specified). The Major Depressive is the most severe of the three

depressive disorders. It is recognized as the manifestation of single or other more Major

Depressive Periods. A Major Depressive Episode is demarcated as five (or further) of nine

symptoms having been existingthroughout the same 2-week duration, signifying a change from

earlier functioning. The nine symptoms are;

1. Unhappy mood many hours of the day, almosteach day, as specified by either observation

made by others orparticular report
