Androgen and insulin - ANSWERAre the main two hormones when it comes to acne.
Androgens (testosterone) - ANSWERThey consist of precursorsDHEA and androstenedione which
convert to testosterone. Then, with the help of an enzyme called 5-alpha redux tase, testosterone is
converted into a much more potent hormone called dihydrotestosterone.
dihydrostestosterone (DHT) - ANSWERDHT stimulates keratin and sebum production that affec the
acne-prone pore. And, the enzyme, 5-alpha redux tase, is also responsible for increasing sensitivity to
testosterone. It also happens to be much more active in the acne-prone.
Birth control pills - ANSWERThe androgen dominant pills will fill a woman's body with more
testosterone, causing more sebum production and acne flare ups. Estrogen dominant pills shut down
hormone production within the ovaries. Since half of a woman's testosterone is produced in the
ovaries, sebum production will be reduced and acne breakouts..
Highter fritz skin clients - ANSWERHigher fritz clients should always start with acne med 2.5%. Acne
med 5% to spot treat. Acne med can cause discoloration in higher Fritz.

,whey protein - ANSWERIs found in milk. Whey proteins contain a powerful growth factor called
betacellulin. This growth factor binds to special receptors on human skin cells called epidermal
growth factor receptors(EGFRs), which tell Skin follicles to multiply and to make more sebum.

broken out , start them on glycolic and vitamin A every other night.
Celluma vs regular light bulb - ANSWERI think the light we use to illuminate a room is broad
spectrum (uses a wide bandwidth of wavelengths to create white light), whereas the therapeutic
light of celluma is narrowed down to single wavelengths.
I've seen something about cold white light and blue screen light having a degenerative effect, can't
remember exactly where, it was a scientist on YouTube. Not sure how legit a youtube scientist is lol.
Accutane is an analog of which vitamin? - ANSWER
Spironolactone (Aldactone) - ANSWERSpiro isn't technically an antibiotic. It's an anti androgen and

,Masks - ANSWERI am not a huge fan of masks for clearing acne. They aren't going to make a
significant difference in the clearing process. Daily exfoliation is the key to clear skin. Face reality's
masks are acne safe but they won't clear your skin alone.
Pores - ANSWERPores can't open and close.
Close: tighten/ non penetrating
Open= loose/pliable
Milia - ANSWERThe root cause of Milia is lack of free water in the skin. Exfoliation does not seem to
be the answer. Use ageless serum or some kind of hyaluronic acid serumtwice a day and it is safe
enough to use up to the lash line. Takes about two months, give or take for the Milia to start to
soften and be reabsorbed. Increase water consumption as well.
Scrubs - ANSWERScrubs for non-inflamed acne. If you are breaking out - with red skin, with white
heads and your breakouts hurt. Do not use scrubs.
P acne bacteria - ANSWERP acne bacteria proliferates and replicates every two weeks.
Stress - ANSWERChronic, continual stress is a trigger for acne. Chronic stress increases levels of stress
related hormones such as cortisol which sends the sebaceous oil glands into overdrive, which mixes
with dead skin cells and breakout causing bacteria.
Which product to strengthen? - ANSWER
benzoyl peroxide - ANSWEROne of BPO's Function is to soften plugs and stop the Keratinocytes from
sticking together, which is a hallmark of non-inflamed.
3 components of acne - ANSWERDead skin cells, sebum and bacteria
3 components of acne and benzoyl peroxide - ANSWERBenzyl peroxide does something for the three
components of acne - dead skin cells, sebum and bacteria. It is drying so it helps with the excess
sebum and it is a peroxide and the bacteria's are anaerobic so they hate all the extra oxygen. But the
real magic is it makes the dead skin cells not sticky so the plugs don't form in the first place. You use
AcneMed all over to prevent breakouts from having a chance to form, but you spot treat with it to
get the other wonders going on existing lesions.
, Stress - ANSWERStress sets off hormones, such as testosterone, that cause acne breakouts. So make
time to wind down and relax. Find a hobby. Less stress increases oxygen flow and stabilizes
hormones, minimizing flareups as a result.
RX Antibiotics - ANSWEROral antibiotics only suppress the problem, not control it. Antibiotics in
general disturb the gut flora significantly, and have been shown to increase the rate of illness
particularly in Acne Client's (long-term, low dose). Disturbing the gut flora can have a major impact
on inflammation, which can intern have a major impact on skin.
Acne med - ANSWERStrengthen acne med for inflammation flare ups
Antibiotics - ANSWER
Sudden breakout - ANSWERThe reason it happens more quickly is because a sudden rush of sebum
into a pore,, or a pore irritant such as iodine in food, or a pore irritant in a cosmetic, will cause
inflammation of the pore lining. This in turn causes swelling, and redness. If the swelling stays around
for a few days without being calmed down, normal oil and dead skin cells start to build up
andaccumulate inside the pore creating a larger comedones. If the swelling and clogging is enough to
prevent entry of oxygen, the acne bacteria that resides deep in the poor will now have a chance to
thrive, and a pustule will form. But the immediate problem is inflammation caused by rushes of oil
brought on by normal changes triggered by foods that bring on male hormone releases, or by
cosmetic irritants. This will especially be true of a junk food binge, since chances are extremely high
that someone who would binge like this in the first place has some degree of insulin resistance,
which means a hormonal fluctuation will take place that results in sudden triggering of sebaceous
gland activity.
Acne graduate - ANSWERI am declaring you and Acne program graduate because we have achieved
your skin goals! You'll now enter into maintenance mode, which means we'll begin to space
