PCC/PCIs Questions and answers
PCI - answer Pre-Combat Inspection

PCC - answer Pre-Combat Check

What is the difference between the PCIs and PCCs? - answer PCIs are conducted
before the Mission
- Superiors are to ensure Soldiers have all required equipment and that it is all in
working conditions

PCCs are conducted as you step off for your Mission
- Superiors simply check to see if Soldiers have all required equipment as they already
know equipment should be full functional from the PCI
Typically Superiors only check for essential equipment

Why do we have Inspections? - answer If allowed to, Soldiers will become careless
and lax in the performance of minor barrack duties in their unit.

Soldiers become accustomed to conditions in their immediate surroundings and
overlook minor deficiencies.

Sharp appearance, efficient performance and excellent maintenance are important
considerations that affect you directly. They are the earmarks of a good organization
and one you should be a proud member of.

Types of Inspections - answer In-Ranks

In-Quarters

In-Ranks Inspections - answer An in-ranks inspection is of personnel and equipment
in a unit formation.

The leader examines each soldier individually, noticing their general appearance and
the condition of their clothing and equipment.

When inspecting crew-served weapons and vehicles, the personnel are normally
positioned to the rear of the formation with the operators standing by their vehicle or
weapon.

In-Quarter Inspections - answer Leaders may conduct an in-quarters (barracks)
inspection to include personal appearance, individual weapons, field equipment,
displays, maintenance and sanitary conditions.
