, The WHO article was written to educate people, mainly gay men, on the importance of
using protection to prevent HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. Sometimes this hard
communication is needed because not everyone is available to have a sex-ed talk and can learn
about things that people find uncomfortable to talk about. The target audience is for gay men,
and for people who has not learned about the possible risk of sexual intercourse. Facebook is a
sight that all age groups use, so It is good for everyone to learn about the possible risk factors of
HIV and other diseases, and allows anyone to get a sense of what they did not know so they can
do their own research into STD’s and all their risks. Its strategic communication involved a
picture of two men with one holding up a condom with words saying “ Look after your sexual
health”. It is a good picture that shows that using protection not only helps prevent your risks,
but also your partners. It allow two vulnerable people who care about each other, allow each
other to protect their health and overall stay happy and healthy. The good thing about the overall
message, is that it not only refers to gay men, but anyone who is sexually active. Protection when
it comes to intercourse is a great educational lesson for every person on Earth. Like stated early,
sometimes Sex-Ed is not introduced to people and therefore is not always common knowledge.
Health Literacy is when individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic
health information necessary to make informed health decisions (HRSA, 2023). With this said,
this facebook post is a great communication strategy because of how all ages have access to this
informative post and mostly all people who are old enough to be on facebook/social media are
eventually going to need to learn about sexual education. An alternative message could be used
using a TV show or an informative accessible video. I believe with the new generations way of
learning things, a video is very helpful so that you can have a lower attention span and still learn
