For this assignment, students will select TWO electronic media theories covered in the textbook. Then review
published research to understand more about the two theories. Write a paper that compares the theories’
assumptions, the type of research questions/hypothesis that arise from each perspective and your opinion on the
application of the theories in real life.
Seek answers to the following questions and thoughts: (note these are not totally inclusive)
• Who originated the theory?
• What was the zeitgeist?
• What is the basic theory?
• What are the assumptions?
• What research methods is used to test the theory?
• Identify research that built upon the theory? And what did it focus and find?
• Are the theories used for this paper have practical applications?
• What did you learn from studying these theories?
All papers must be typed, double-spaced, on one side of the page, using Times New Roman 12-point font, with
1” margins all around. Research papers must be written in accordance with APA or MLA Style Guides,
especially as it concerns citations and reference list. All work will be graded on grammar and style.
A MINIMUM of 8 references (Cannot use the textbook).
