Personal Case Study
Infancy
I was born on July 18th, 2002, in San Ramon, CA, and was adopted into my loving
family at birth. Shortly after my birth, I was taken to Dallas, TX, where the first part of my

adoption took place, and then I was flown to Connecticut for my adoption to be finalized.
Connecticut was where I spent most of my younger years. My family provided me with all the
basic needs to sustain me (trust). The developmental aspect throughout this year was typical of a
normative development.
Early Childhood
My developmental delays were not seen until early childhood, when my speech did not
develop until roughly 2 years old. I was a very active baby during my early childhood, and I
would take risks like sliding down the stairs or going out and playing in the snow for an extended
period. Until I was three years of age, I worked towards developing Autonomy instead of shame
and doubt.
Play Age
Going into preschool, I was very young for my grade. I do not remember most of my
academic career during these ages. At some point during these developmental years, I was
diagnosed as a high-functioning autistic, which explained my language delays at the time.
During that time, I became proactive with my school work and often took leadership positions
with my friends. Although I typically took those positions, my social skills were lacking due to
being held back by my diagnosis. During this time, I went from preschool to elementary school,
and It was not until I was around 6 years old that I left Connecticut.
School Age
At about age 6, I started at a new Paragon School in Winter Park, Florida, a small town
just north of Orlando, Florida. At the time, leaving all my friends from my younger years was
one of the hardest things I had to do. Back then, when I was six years old, I did not have access
