a changing external environment.
There are four key processes to consider when managing innovation in a changing
external environment and they are the following:
Stage-gate: It is a process to manage product development with less risk factors. The
stages are representing the work that needs to be done and the gates are checkpoints for
the team or upper management to evaluate and decide if the project is worth continuing
and moving forward.
Agile: This is an approach that has shorter development processes even if they are not
considered to be perfect. This process assists with quick responding to feature requests
and allows for adaption to customers needs. It aids in realizing the benefits much quicker
but also helps to avoid delaying the processes that can happen when striving for
perfection before the product delivery.
Lean: This is a model that is non-linear. It fosters collaboration and utilizes feedback to
assist in guiding change.
Discover-iterate-pivot: this process is where an iterative development team will produce,
test, and make modifications until the final product is satisfactory and ready to be
delivered,
Recommendation and Rationale:
The recommendation that is most suitable for managing innovation in a changing external
environment for our company is the agile approach. The reason this approach is most suitable is
