Florida Psychology Licensure. Part DPsychotherapist - answer- a person authorized to practice medicine in any state or
nation, or reasonably believed by the patient so to be, who is engaged in the dx or tx of
a mental or emot. cond., including alcoholism or drug addiction.
- a person licensed or certified as a psychologist under the laws of any state or nation,
who is engaged primarily in the dx or tx of a mental or emot. cond., including alcoholism
or drug addiction.
- a person licensed or certified as a clin. SW., MFT, or LMHC under the laws of FL, who
is engaged primarily in the dx or tx of a mental or emot. cond., including alcoholism or
drug addiction.
- Tx personnel of facilities licensed by the state pursuant to ch. 394, ch. 395, ch. 397, of
facilities designated by DCFS pursuabt to ch. 394 as tx facilities, or facilities defined as
comm. MH centers pursuant to 394.907(1) who are engaged primarily in the dx or tx of
a mental or emot. cond., including alcoholism or drug addiction.
- An ARNP certified under 464.012 whose primary scope who is the dx or tx of a mental
or emot. cond., including alcoholism or drug addiction, and limited only to actions
performed IAW with part 1 of ch. 464.
Patient - answer-A person who consults or is interviewed by a psychotherapist for
purposes of dx or tx of a mental or emot. cond., including alcoholism or drug addiction.
Communication b/w pt and psychotherapist - answerIs "confidential" if it is not intended
to be disclosed to third persons other than:
- persons present to further the interest of the pt in the consultation, examination, or
interview
- persons necessary for the transmission of the communication
-persons who are participating in the dx and tx under the direction of the
psychotherapist
Patient has privilege to: - answer-refuse to disclose, and to prevent any other person
from disclosing, confidential comm or records made for the purpose of diagnosis or to of
the pt's mental or emot. cond., including alcoholism or drug addiction, between the pt
and the psychotherapist, or persons who are participating in the dx or to under the
