When I first heard about the concept of the cave and how Plato wrote it so well, my mind was stunned.
Reflecting on the concept of my own cave was initially strange for me. I spent a considerable amount of
time analyzing the reasons behind my values and morals. Eventually, I arrived at the conclusion that my
social and economic status is my cave. Due to my financial situation, I was raised with the belief that
nothing comes easy and that I must work hard for everything. This is in contrast to someone with a higher
social and economic status who may not have to work as hard. Additionally, my mindset and goals were
built on the belief that obtaining a higher education would lead to wealth. My family always encouraged me
to pursue education so that I could take advantage of opportunities that they never had. All in all, this has
shaped the way I perceive many things and has influenced my decisions. Nonetheless, I am grateful for the
values and beliefs instilled in me during my upbringing, as they have shaped me into the person I am today.
