Leading withAttention
, At Leading with Attention, our staff will work closely with clients to analyze
the effects of attention training. The purpose of this study is to determine if
attention training will aid the client in day-to-day functioning or hinder the
client’s functioning capabilities.
The target population for our clinic is active-duty military personnel as well as
veterans who have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In our
clinic we will analysis potential threatening stimuli to aid our clients in training
their focus to the task at hand. Understanding of threat-stimuli for an individual
with PTSD could be improved by research intended to evaluate the impact of
attention control training and attention bias adjustment on active brain
performance.
The purpose of attention allocation to perceived danger concerns patients with
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Several studies show surplus attention to
danger and other studies reveal alternatives linking danger focus and avoidance.
The creators of this study, which we will implement in our clinic, investigated
the effectiveness of two unusual computer-programmed procedures, attention
bias change and attention control training, for altering danger occurrence
