Trazodone (Oleptro) - Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor/Antagonist
take at bedtime, makes you tired, smaller doses help with sleep
Mirtazapine (Remeron) - NaSSA
makes patients sleepy and hungry
Given to patients with ED's, dementia, etc

make you go toxic, if dehydrated can go toxic
MAOI antidepressants and patient education - Do not take with OTC cold meds, SSRIs,
TCAs, narcotics, antihypertensives, sedatives, or stimulants
Avoid food high in tyramine- aged wine, fermented cheese, pickled foods, sausage
Hypertensive crisis s/s- stiff neck, N/V, headache, palpitations, incr temp, incr/decr HR
Seizure meds used in psych - Valproate (Depakote)- check levels
Lamotrigine (Lamictal)- Stevens Johnson rash
Carbamazepine (Equetro, Tegretol)
Gabapentin (Neurontin)
