The bar chart published by the Pew Research Center
on Feb. 20th on how teen social media users
describe ow social media affects their connections
to their friends. 789 teens were asked to fill out the
survey.
The bar chart consists of two categories. “To
friend's life”. Each is then divided into three
segments, in which the participant can label
themselves. According to the bar chart. 20% feel a
lot better connected to their friend's feelings with
the help of social media. 49% feel better connected.
On the other hand, 33% of the participants describe
social media as helping them feel better connected
to their friend's lives. 50% states that they feel a
little better connected and 17% say they don't feel
better connected.
One thing that surprised, is that 30% of teen social
media users don't better connected to their friend's
feelings through social media. I would have thought
that the number would have been lower, because
from my experience, my friends and me who ll use
social media have reported to gain insights about
each other's feelings.

Relationship and social media
The bar chart, published by the Pew Research about
teen and relationships, describes how teens spend
time with their friends and how often. The survey
was conducted in 2014/15 and 1060 teens, ages
ranging from 13-16, who participated.
The statistics are shown in the form of a vertical bar
chart. There are four bars, each divided into tree
segments. The first bar shows how often teens
spend their time with their friends in person. The
second bar describes how often teens text with
friends. The third bar illustrates how frequently they
talk to their friends on the phone, and the fourth one
shows how often teens spend time with their friends
on social media sites. 25% of teens spend time with
each in person daily, while 50% do it just as
regularly through text messaging. Only 19% of
participating teens call their friends daily.
