Additional Conditions or Problems that may be the Focus of Clinical Attention - Anything that might be important to the treatment or prognosis of an individual that arent previously outlined by any of the classifications already listed. Examples Include: Wandering associated with a mental disorder, uncomplicated berevement, phase of l ife problem, religious or spiritual problem, adult antisocial behavior, nonadherence to medical treatment, malingering, etc (Condition that may be the Focus of Clinical Attention. Adjustment Disorder - An emotional disturbance caused by an identifiable stressor occuring within 3 months of the onset of the stressor. Adult Abuse by Nonspouse or NonPartner - This category may be used when the abuse of an adult by another adult who is not an intimate partner is a focus of clinical attention. Such maltreatment may involve acts of physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. (Condition that may be a Focus of Clinical Att ention) Agoraphobia - Marked fear or anxiety about two or more of the following situations that is out of proportion with any actual danger: Use of public transport, being in open spaces (parking lots, market places, or bridges), being in enclosed spaces (shops, theaters, cinem as), standing in line or being in a crowd, being outside of the home alone. These fears are based in the belief that escape may be difficult in the case of panic like symptoms or embarassing symptoms. These situations are activley avoided. Alcohol Intoxication - Problematic behavioral or psychological changes following the ingestion of alcohol as well as slurred speech, incoordination, unsteady gait, nystagmus, impairment of attention or memory, and stupor/coma Alcohol Use Disorder - Problems with consistent alcohol use that is manifested by at least two of the following: Alcohol is often taken in large ammounts or over long periods of time, there is a persistent desire for or unsuccessful attempts to cut down on alcohol use, large amm ounts of the individuals personal time is spent in activities to obtain alcohol or recover from its effects, craving or strong desire to use alcohol, reccurent alcohol use resulting in failure to meet role obligations, continued use of alcohol despite soci al or personal downsides, important activities/obligations are given up for alcohol use, reccurent alcohol use in situations that my prove to be physically hazardous, continued alcohol use despite obvious propblems caused or worsened by alcohol, and the presence of tolerance and/or withdrawl. Alcohol Withdrawal - Cessation of alcohol use that has been heavy/prolonged that results in two or more of the following: autonomic hyperactivity (heart rate), increased hand tremor, insomnia, nausea or vomiting, transient hallucionations (sight, autotory, or tactile), psychom otor agitation, anxiety, generalized tonic -clonic, seizures. Anorexia Nervosa - An eating disorder characterized with an irrational fear of weight gain that results in the avoidence or restriction of food intake. Causes signiffigant weight loss. Antisocial Personality Disorder - A pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others represented by at least three of the following: Failure to conform to social norms with respect for lawful behaviors, decitfulness as indicated by repeated lying/use of alieses/conn ing others, impulsivity/failure to plan ahead, irritability/agressivness as indicated by repeated physical fights or altercations, reckless disregard for the saftey of self or others, consistent irresponsibility as indicated by repeated failure to honor wo rk or fanancial obligations, lack of remorse or empathy. Anxiety Disorder Due to Another Medical Condition - Panic attacks or anxiety are predominant in the clinical picture and there is evidence that the symptoms are the direct cause of another preexsisting medical condition. Anxiety Disorders - A category of mental disorders characterized by an exsessive amount of fear in response to real, or precived stuations; or a feeling of discomfort/fear in anticipation to these events. Attention Deffecit / Hyperactivity Disorder - A persistant pattern of inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity. Symptoms must have been present prior to the age of 12 though diagnosis can happen at any time. Specefiers for inattentive type, hyperactive type, or combined type. Autism Spectrum Disorder - Persistant defecits in social communication and interaction across multiple contexts, deficits in nonverbal communication behaviors used for social interaction. Restrictive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities. Hyper or hyopreactivity to sensory imput. Present from a young age. (Specifiers range from "requiring support" to "Requiring very substantial support." Avoidant Personality Disorder - A pervasive pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, and hypersensitivity to negative evaluation characterized by at least four of the following: Avoids occupational activities that involve signifigant interpersonal contact out of fear of reje ction/humiliation, is unwilling to get involved with others unless certain of being liked, shows restraint in intimate relationships out of fear of being shamed/ridiculed, is preoccupied of being criticized/rejected in social situations, is inhibited in ne w social settings because of feelings of inadequecy, views self as socially inept/interpersonally unappealing/inferior to others, is usually reluctant to take personal risks. Avoident/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder - An eating/feeding disturbance characterized by significant weight loss, signifigant nutritional defficency, dependence on enteral feeding or suppliments, and marked interfearence with psychological functioning. Ex: Apparent lack of interest in eating, sens ory issues with food, etc. Binge -Eating Disorder - Recurrent episodes of bing -eating characterized by eating a signiffigantly larger ammount than what would be typical of somone with similar physical charictaristics, and a feeling of a loss of control. There is no corrosponding purging behavior. Bipolar and Related Disorders - A group of disorders characterized by shifts between to emotional extremes in episodes. Sometimes they have psychotic features. Bipolar Discorder Related to Another Condition - Hypomanic, or Manic features that are caused by another condition Bipolar I Disorder - A disorder characterized by extreme shifts between manic and depressive episodes. Bipolar II Disorder - A disorder characterized by extreme shifts between hypomanic episodes and depressive episodes. Body Dysmorphic Disorder - An obsessive -compulsive disorder, characterized by an obsession with perceived flaw(s) in physical appearance that are not observable by others. At some point during the course of the disorder, the individual has performed repetitive behaviors (e.g., mirro r checking, excessive grooming, skin picking, reassurance seeking) or mental acts (e.g., comparing his or her appearance with that of others) in response to the appearance concerns. The individual can have varrying degrees of insight into the distorted nat ure of their beliefs. Brief Psychotic Disorder - A psychotic disturbance that lasts for less than a month and does not occur during an manic or depressive episode, and is not better explained by the effects of medication. Specifiers include if the psychosis is in response to something or not.
