WGU D253 – Task 1 and 2 Combined Latest 2024 Update with complete solutions
D253 Task 1
A1.
One of my signature strengths is hope. Being able to keep an optimistic mindset and confidence in your abilities to make your goals come true is the only reason I’m where I am today. When I first started my company, which has been going smoothly for the past 6 months, I put almost everything on the table, causing a great deal of stress and fear about what my future would look like. I am self-employed at my own company as a service provider, and although it isn’t as high in profits as I initially thought, the amount of things I’ve learned is exponential, whether it be the
hardships, the organization and communication skills I have had to undergo, the different types of taxes I’m now learning about, or the relationships I’ve built with my customers. The very reason I’m writing this paper currently is because of the knowledge I gain in the process.
Although a little more broad, it alters my thinking in a more innovative and better way to make
me even more hopeful about my future success.

Hope could be useful in a variety of situations, particularly those requiring leadership, such as a manager of a customer service department. Having hope allows for a more optimistic way of thinking, which is excellent for modeling for the employees you manage. You can spread positivity to those same employees to create a more positive work environment for both employees and customers. It will not only provide positive feedback but also help the company's
culture by fostering positive communication between the service provider and customers.

One of my lesser strengths is fairness among individuals. When you have a negative interaction with someone, it can cause me to be biased because of that previous experience.I look back on times in which I’ve treated people with negative connotations due to even just one negative interaction, and if I had better tried to think about their side, I could probably have had better communication with that person. I specifically remember in grade school when I was in a project
with somebody and they were slacking for the first 2 weeks, even though I didn’t have much context, so whenever they said they would get something done, I would assume they wouldn’t because they didn’t in those first 2 weeks, negatively impacting my grade. I could have possibly gained more trust if I tried to better communicate with him, and we could have had better team synergy because of it.
