3-Act Formula - ANSWERSA substructure within the Classical Narrative. The 3-Act Formula is a concept borrowed from the theater world where a story is essentially broken up into three acts. In cinema ACT I -
is the Setup, ACT II - is the Confrontation and ACT III is the Resolution. There will usually be about 10-20 "plot points" or twists key events that take place within each of the acts. ACT 1 and ACT 3 should each be
about 25% of the film's time and ACT 2 should contain about 50% of the film's devotion.
Action is Character - ANSWERSA component of the Classical Paradigm substructure within the Classical Narrative, in which the characters are generally defined by what they do. For example in Singin' in the Rain, all of the characters are defined by what they do, i.e. being actors.
Allegories - ANSWERSA figurative technique in which stylized characters and situations represent obvious
ideas. The most common examples are representations of concepts of justice, death, religion, society, etc...

It is based on the conflict between a protagonist who initiates the action and the antagonist who resists against it. It works on cause and effect conflicts until it rises to a climax. The plotlines are linear and often take the form of a journey, search or a chase.
Director - ANSWERSThe individual in charge of directing the production or making of the film. The director visualizes the screenplay, deciding how the film is going to look. The director controls both the film's artistic and dramatic aspects, while guiding the actors and technical crew in fulfillment of that vision.
Director Repertoire Actor - ANSWERSAn actor who works frequently with one director, often bringing some of his best work to the table because of the comfort level.
Emotional Recall - ANSWERSA facet of method acting, in which the actor delves into his/her own personal history and experiences searching for a connection to his/her role. The idea is that the actor will be able to connect with his/her character on a different, higher level because of a shared experience,
feeling or way of thinking.
