Introduction
Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Today I’m going to interduce to you the learning styles.
You might be wondering what these styles are. Every person who gets information have their
own style of learning and different styles how they process this information. There are different
types of learning styles such as:
Reflective learners
Active learners
Intuitive learners
Sensory Learners
Tactile/Kinesthetic learners
These are the ones I’m going to explain today but they are much other styles such as: visual
learners, sequential learners, interpersonal learners etc.
(slide 6)
The first one I’m going to interduce is reflective learners.
When these reflective learners have a problem to solve, they don’t stop with the first solution
that comes to their mind. They think hard and find different types of solutions and in the end
pick the one that they think is the most effective one. They also go on some different steps
while solving a problem. This is called the 6D method. These 6 steps are Define, Discover,
Dream, Design, Deliver and Debrief. As you can see each of the steps starts with a D and there
are 6 of them and that’s why it’s called the 6D method. They also question themselves what,
why and how are they getting this information.
(slide 7)
Let’s now explain the active learners and how they process the information.
These learners don’t understand the information that good by just hearing or reading it. In
order to process this information properly they have to be active which means interacting with
other students or people who are related to this information. In order to understand properly
they also use different tools such as doing homework or putting the information into practice
when’s possible.
(slide 8)
Now we have the intuitive learners. This are the learners I like a lot and the definition of
these learners is the reason.
These learners, every time they are getting new information or have a problem, they tell
themselves “Let’s think this through”. These learners understand the information they get
firstly by making connection with any other information they already got. But these learners
can’t stand information that has to do with memorizing or with routine calculations.
