What type of feedback did I deliver?

When this activity was too hard I decreased the distance from our markers. To develop passing use the
right technique. Try to increase your precision by following through the execution of the pass. I also gave a
feedback telling the individuals to maintain your posture because this is very important; as it can have an
impact on the type of power and accuracy when you are executing the pass. I also gave a feedback saying
to all the participants that what went well and what else they could improve on. For example the majority
of the players I was coaching had a good technique of passing whereas one person didn’t, so I had to
explain him the key points in steps.

Was this feedback effective at improving performance?

The feedback did have an impact on the individuals as it gave them time to think what they were doing
wrong and how they could make amendments. When I decreased the distance from the markers between
my partner and me, the difficulty wasn’t too hard and was within my partner’s capability. It also became
easier mentioning that fact that everyone needs to use the inside of the foot, in order to keep the pass
simple and straight.

To improve, I had mentioned that when you are at the executing phase, you need to flex out your leg and
follow through the ball; this is efficient because it allows you to have a good contact with the ball which
enables you to have maximum control of your pass. For those individuals who were struggling passing, I
guided them that instead of trying to kick the ball, place your non kicking foot next to the ball and ensure
that your kicking leg is not too far away from the ball otherwise you would not be able to pass properly.
This improves their performance significantly; this is because they have understood the key concepts of
the lesson in terms of passing which is; how to prepare, execute and recover.
