Three-dimensional form A shape that has height, width and depth.
Polychromatic Random use of hues and their variations.

Analogous colours Analogous is a colour scheme that consists of hues

Radial balance When all the elements are arranged around the centre.
Not commonly used. OR the same as symmetrical
balance, but is achieved on a 3-D object such as a sphere.
When the sphere is cut in half, both sides are exactly the
same.
Symmetrical balance Symmetrical balance is created when both sides of an
artwork are similar in visual weight and almost mirrored.
Unity Unity refers to the wholeness which results from the
successful combination of the elements of an artwork.
Contrast Visual differences in an artwork. OR placing opposite
qualities of line, colour, texture or shape together to create
contrast and variety
Mixed media When artists use different media, materials and techniques
in an artwork.
2-D 2-D art usually has a flat area with a recognisable
boundary,
An example of 2-D art: a painting.
3-D 3-D art has height, width and depth.
An example of 3-D art: a sculpture.
Emphasis Emphasis refers to developing points of interest to pull the
viewer’s eye to important parts of the work. It also refers to
focal points in the composition.
Foreshortening It is the shortening of the depth dimension.
