Well trained athletes
Clinical Manifestations:
May be asymptomatic
Low cardiac output:
▪ Hypotension Weakness
▪ Lethargy
Pale, cool skin Angina
▪ SOB Nausea
▪ Confusion Dizziness Confusion
▪ Syncope
▪
Treatment:
Assess to see if that patient is symptomatic (poor C.O.)
Stop offending medications (ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, CCBs)
If symptomatic: Atropine 3 mg MAX dose (0.5-1 mg Q3-5Min)
If symptomatic & atropine doesn’t work, patient needs a PACEMAKER
