• Inhiben la enzima hidroximetil-glutaril CoA reductasa.

o Apolipoproteína B

Efectos:

o Utilidad en la prevención primaria y secundaria
ESTATINA + EZETIMIBA: Resulta en una disminución adicional de los niveles de C-LDL del 24%
• Añadir en pacientes que no han alcanzado la meta con la dosis máxima.
• No debe de ser usada la ezetimiba como monoterapia.
SECUESTRADORES DE ACIDOS BILIARES: Agentes de 2da línea.
• Pacientes con intolerancia a ezetimiba
• Niveles de triglicéridos <300mg/dL
FIBRATOS Y NIACINA:
• Reservados para pacientes con aumento de triglicéridos (previenen pancreatitis por hipertrigliceridemia)
• Se usan para el incremento del C-HDL
• No se deben de usar en niños o embarazadas
• Hepatotoxicidad y nefrotoxicidad
GEMFIBROZILO + ESTATINA: Aumenta el riesgo de miopatía que puede llegar a progresar a una rabdomiólisis
• No se deben de usar juntos
