complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence
of disease or in rmity

1. Biomedical model; you could only become ill if some some sort of
bodily process is a ected
- exposure to contagious “agents” (like bacteria)
- insu cient immune response

2. Biopsychological model;
3 circles:
1. Social context; social supports, education, cultural traditions etc.

1. Primary prevention; prevent illness (before early symptoms).

3. Tertiary prevention; stop later symptoms going to illness > revalidation
> target group= ill people
