Step 1
1.indeed is upsetting to see children working heavy duty in the mine,it will cause damage to
their life because their bones are not strong as the old ones
Step 2
1.the most likely utilitarian option is c,which states that the global supply chains need cobalt
for economic growth ,which is for everyone,s best interest
Utilitarian is that something has to be useful rather than looking good ,so what that means is
that the cobalt mining in the democratic republic of congo is using child labour for the benefit
of the economy and being able to generate cobalt for tech companies
2.why do you say this
I say this because cobalt according to the uses of the cobalt are many, which include usage in
lithium -o,n batteries are used in smartphones ,and electric vehicles, to which in the age are
seen as the future cars
3.i feel bad ,i wish every countries must gather and come with the plan About negotiating
with congolese government to stop this because the children will sick and they will be
damaged on their body
4.it is option c

1. Which is the most likely utilitarian option?
Option C, “This is just a fact of global supply chains and necessary for global economic
growth, which is in everyone’s best interest.”
2. Why do you say this?
According to the definition provided which is stated as follows “Utilitarianism holds that any
action is judged as good if that act maximizes the total amount of good in a system”
Therefore, having the operating mines has a more positive effect currently in terms of the
economy as well as creating employment in the DRC, looking that about 60% of the world’s
cobalt is attained from the country which when compared to the exploitation of a few young
children indicates a larger benefit for the “small” price of these children. thus, we can
, conclude that option C provides a clear utilitarian when looking at the definition provided.by
exploiting a small group of children to benefit many in the country thus maximizing the good.
3. What do you feel about this option?
My opinions on this type of option are that this type of growth is morally and ethically
wrong, in this case the use of children to take such a huge responsibility for the greater good
of the country not only takes away their childhood and damages their safety the images seen
show a clear indication that the children are not even mining with proper protocols and safety
regulations. I believe there is a better way starting by hiring people of the correct age while
also taking care of their safety. This is neglect and infect illegal.
4. Which option did you chose?
Option E “It breaks my heart to see children exploited. This is morally wrong and must not be
allowed.”

ASSIGNMENT 3 child Labour-
63135981
All about the outcome
Step 1
When l googled pictures on child labourers in DRC I noticed that this is a huge problem that
needs to be resolved because as i believe children have rights and at that age they have a right
to be provided for and even education and avoid working and providing for others at that age.
Step 2
According to McCombs School of business ethics unwrapped consequentialism is an ethical
theory that judges weather or not something is right by what its consequences are.
They also explain utilitarianism as a way that judges consequences by a greatest good for the
greatest number standard.
1.Which is the most utilitarian option?
Option C This is just a fact of global supply chains and necessary for global economic growth
which is in everyone’s best interest. I say this because according to the consequentialism
definition that it judges weather or not something is right by what the consequences are. In
this cas the consequences are that it will be everyone's best interest to allow child laborer's to
mine the cobalt so as to allow economic growth as it is a fact of global supply chains, this
then makes it the best option. Utilitarianism is a way that judges consequences by the greatest
good for the greatest number standard, so even if the children work the majority that will
benefit everyone else hey.
