District Attorney Davenport

14 January 2020
Arrest Warrant of Autumn Ripley and Matthew Piper

On July 10, approximately at 11:00 p.m., seventy year old multi-millionaire, Allen

Ripley, was found shot to death in the study of his Riverton, NJ mansion. Motives of the

murderers and statements from witnesses point to Autumn Ripley, second wife of Ripley, and

buissness partner of Ripley, Matthew Piper, to be guilty of the murder on Allen Ripley.

Autumn and Matthew were both tied into the wealth of Ripley in a form of personal or

business relationship. Reasons for looking at the motive of the suspects are because the money

that they would inherit from their death was a significant amount. Autumn Ripley would inherit

predictably 10 million dollars of the Ripley fortune. Matthew Piper was Ripley's close business

partner who would be able to claim most of the business the two owned. The two had clearly

plotted the murder for the benifits of their own wealth. Many speculated that the two suspects

had a very close relationship, a little too close for a married woman, according to the the maid of

the home, Annie Vinson. Aumtun told Ripley she was meeting Piper the night of the murder to

“disccuss paperwork”. From motives of being the next millionares to having a intiment

realtionship with one antoher, motive is strong evidence for sentancing these two to be guilty of

the murder.

Along with motives, the time frame that the two were reported to be in and out of the

mansion lined up with the accusation on their crime. Maid of the home, Annie Vinson, claimed

Ripley told her that Mrs.Ripley would not be home that night, that she would be staying with her

sister. Vinson also claimed that one day she was walking into the kitchen of the Ripleys home

and saw Mrs.Ripley and Mr.Piper standing very close in proximity, no physical affection
