Assignment One: Best Practices Presentation: Case Study
SPED 8402 Assignment One: Best Practices Presentation: Case Study
Create a case study [this could be a true or fictitious scenario] that illustrates a massive
organizational dilemma that can potentially cause any organization to crumble. Please
note that the crisis in institutional leadership also influences productivity, motivation,
morale, trust, and confidence. Think about several workplaces that you have had
experience and knowledge of the organizational structure and environment. Have you ever
had experiences related to mobbing, which is workplace bullying, miscommunication,
morale issues, to name a few? If a so-called leader allowed this type of behavior to
infiltrate the organization, do you feel that they were the main contributor to the crisis?
You are to create your own case study [a story line] of an organization in crisis and then
provide a discussion of best practices based on your readings and offer your analysis,
identifying the five most important practices to apply problem-solving skills to address
issues and concerns within the organization. Your narrated presentation should be between
5-7 minutes. You should first describe your case study as it relates to the issues
and then present your findings/solutions. You must have seven scholarly resources to
support your views (current sources from 2015 to present).

Best Practices Presentation: Case Study
Introduction and Organizational Crisis
All companies or organizations have experienced a crisis at one point or another. The
difference between those organizations that succeed and those that crumble is how each of them
handles the crisis. A crisis can emerge from a simple issue or issues in the organization that has
been ignored, thus worsening. Most organizations face a crisis as a result of poor management or
leadership. Leadership is the core of an organization the holds every process together. When
leadership weakens, the whole organization can easily crumble. Below is an example of a
company in a crisis and an analysis of five best practices to remedy the organization's crisis.
Two years ago, I worked with AB Company in the south of Florida. AB is a shoe
producing Company that has been in the production industry for two decades now. The company
is known for making huge profits from producing different types of shoes; however, the
company has recently been known for losing its employees due to a low working environment,
low payments, and work overload. As one of their employees, I knew the company was faced
with a massive high employee turnover rates. Most of the employees could last a few months
before quitting, and the few who had patience could last one or two years maximum before
quitting. As one of the employees, I noticed and experienced various factors that could have
driven the high employee turnover rates. One, stress, the work environment was highly stressful
with unbearable supervisors who lacked good communication skills. Supervisors were good and
shouting and commanding instead of conversing and communicating what should be done.
Two, work overload. A company that overworks its workers will always lose, and if any
of them chose to remain, they could not be productive. The company had one hundred workers in
the production sector, a sector which required more than two hundred workers to be effective and
