• Hematoma= (bruise) pressure-ice-elevate
• Infiltration=remove(d/c) IV-elevate
• Extravasation=call pharmacy for antidote-
do not elevate-leave IV in
• Phlebitis=red, warm, redline-remove IV-use
warmth-still monitor patient for phlebitis.
I&O with recommendation of what the patient
needs (more or less)
• If output is more than input, you might
recommend to the doctor that they need
