Overall, the technologies used in IoT can be used to collectively work together
to gather data over a low powered wireless network such as ZigBee, Bluetooth

includes customers in retail. NFC and RFID chips readers can used at checkout
to provide convenience to the customer in the way of providing substantially
more payment methods when used in conjunction with a customer’s smart

customer has visited and share the data with loyalty and retainer programs and
can also be used in conjunction with smart shelving to share data to provide
the customer with personalized offers which increases the customers overall
experience.
For the retailer, IoT devices such as beacons can collect data on a customer’s
location to provide personalized adverts to try enticing customers to make a
purchase. RFID or NFC tags can be used to with smart shelving to gather data
, on an items position in the event of it being displaced by a customer. Theft
prevention is also a benefit as items can be fitted with electronic tags (NFC or
RFID) which can be used with together with beacons to track an item’s position
i.e. leaving the store. Overall, retailers can use the IoT technology to integrate
within a bigger system to enhance customer experience and improve overall
