WK 2 Assignment RSCH

8260

Introduction:

Sprague, et al (2011) proposed that in addition to frustration-aggression model that was

proposed by Dollard et al (1939), that among low-income male adolescents, feelings of hostility,

social support, and perceived stress may also be related to aggressive behavior. To test this

hypothesis, a random sample of (N = ) 100 adolescent males attending Hillcrest High School in

Queens (NY) were recruited to participate in the study. To assess their levels of frustration,

stress, hostility, and Social Support each student completed the Frustration Discomfort Scale, the

Perceived Stress Scale, the Hostility Inventory, and the Online Social Support Scale. It was noted

that the number of documented classroom aggressive behaviors occurred during the week

following completion of the questionnaires, was provided by the high school’s Dean of Student’s

Office. The research question of this study was the research hypothesis that Frustration, Stress,

and Hostility are significant predictors of aggression.

males.

, (H03) The feeling of frustration do not have an influence aggressive behavior adolescent in
males.

(Ha4): Social support do not have an influence on aggrieve behavior in
adolescent males.

The alternative null hypotheses (H0) for the present study are:

behavior in adolescent males.

adolescent males.
