access to high-quality healthcare which has become more efficient and cost-effective for the
patient, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Telemedicine has been shown to be a
service that is offered and that seeks to improve a patient’s health by permitting real-time
interactive communication between the patient and the physician at a distant site through
technology (Kichloo et al., 2020). Telemedicine aims to meet the patients’ needs and has the
overall capacity to revolutionize and deliver quality care in a more convenient way. This
annotated bibliography will talk about Telehealth benefits and how this technology in nursing has
impacted patients, some barriers and the overall patient outcomes using telehealth.

telemedicine as a means of triage. This technology helped maintain patient-oriented care
while protecting patients and healthcare providers. The interdisciplinary team works
together for patients who may have COVID-19, telemedicine has been used to assess
respiratory symptoms, which may be part of the early presentation of COVID-19
infection. This article also mentions how the use of telemedicine has had positive impacts
on the quality of care the patient receives and in the public health emergency with
facilitating triage, but also allowing large numbers of healthcare providers services when
local hospitals and healthcare centers are unable to meet demand. This source is
important to health care practitioners and the interdisciplinary team to read because of the
emerging technology with the pandemic and this use of virtual technology has been a
means of providing healthcare not only to infected people but also to non-infected people
during this infectious pandemic. Telemedicine is also a good resource for chronic

such as diabetes and congestive heart failure with telemedicine use. The increased use has
