Nepal is a landlocked country which is placed in between India is in the western, southern,
and eastern part of Nepal whereas, china is in the northern part of Nepal. Even though
Nepal is famous for its natural beauty, agricultural production, and its artifacts. The
northern part of Nepal is covered by the Himalayas and it is covered by snow for the entire
year. The center part of Nepal consists of hills, valleys, and lakes. The southern part of
Nepal known as Terai has gigantic plain land, fertile soil, and dense forest. Due to
geographically and climatically diversified conditions, it diversified the temperature,
rainfall, and soil in different places which help to accumulate different crops in a different
part of Nepal.
The economic growth of Nepal is not that remarkable over time according to the
population growth of the country. But Nepali economy is dominated by agriculture. In the
'80s, the main occupation of Nepal was agriculture, the majority of people were engaged
in it, although only 20% of the total land was fertile, it is accounted that 60% of GDP and
75% of export. In between 1975 and 1980, the economic development depends on
agriculture and it is the base for the industrial inputs as well. Now, more than 57% of
peoples are of working age and among them, 81% percent of people are engaged in
agriculture whereas, the contribution of non-agricultural activities is increasing in the
GDP. (Nepal, 2021)
As per the world bank, the main source of food, employment, and income is agriculture.
To increase productivity, the government needs to focus on irrigation, implement hybrid
seeds, and use fertilizers in the high yield areas. Due to the lack of distribution of those
needs Nepali agriculture is being backward nowadays. (bank, 2020)
Although new technology in agriculture has improved production levels but farmers still
facing problems. These problems can be solved by using new technologies such as big
data, machine learning, and sensors to measure temperature and soil health. I hope that
this report will generate different dimensions of productivity so that it will help in the growth
of Nepalis economy.

1. Introduction
Agriculture is an essential factor for providing employment opportunities and increases
the economy of the country. About 66 percent of the total Nepalese are engaged in
farming and contribute to 36 percent of the total GDP. Whereas, others are engaged in
non-farming activities. Farming plays a crucial role in producing food for humans. (Nepal,
2021)
Nepal is having agro-biodiversity, and the Major food production in Nepal are Rice, Maize,
Millet, Wheat, Barley, and Buckwheat, Cotton, Jute, Potato, Potato, Oilseeds, and
Tobacco are the main cash crops whereas Horse Gram, Black Gram, Pigeon Pea, Lentil,
Gram and soybeans. Nepal is also famous for turmeric, zinger, large cardamom, orthodox
tea, and so on. Different geographical farmers grow a variety of crops according to
uncertain weather and unsuitable agroeconomic condition as well.
In addition to that, Nepal also grows different types of fruits and vegetables. Some of the
noticeable fruits are Plum, Pear, Apple, Peach, Papaya, Mango, Cucumber, Pineapple,
Lime, Leamon, Banana, Orange, Litchi, Walnuts, and some of the noticeable vegetables
like pumpkin, brinjal, ladyfingers, and some other leafy vegetables. But nowadays live
fishing is another emerging business in terai and rainbow trout is an example in the hilly
area and lower mountains.
Here is the list of the problem of agriculture in Nepal.
1. Illiterate about farming/agriculture.
2. Comfort in the traditional agriculture method.
3. Poor irrigation.
4. Insufficient young manpower
5. Insufficient use of Technology
6. Lack of market security

crop which is known as the Crop recommendation system.
The main aims of this research are given below.
• To increase productivity by analyzing the previous data.
• To find suitable crops for a particular area.
• To reduce the loss of farmers.
• To find the basic principles of how the crops grow.
Objectives
• Data sets are collected from the different sources
• Data are visualize
• To find the different dimensions to increase productivity.
• Apply strategic research which will be direct toward specific problems.
• Do adaptive research to enhance productivity and solve the current problems in
the agriculture of Nepal.
• Apply the different machine-learning models to the collected data.
