Hoofstuk 1 - Veels Geluk, Liewe Rudi
Dis Rudi se verjaarsdag en hy wys vir sy vriende, Lize
en Steven, sy nuwe videokamera wat hy as geskenk
gekry het. Rudi is opgewonde daaroor, maar Steven
dink dis simpel omdat ‘n mens videos met jou foon
kan neem.
Rudi sukkel om ‘n meisie te kry. Hy weet nie hoekom
nie: hy is nie lelik nie en hy speel rugby. Rudi hou van
Lize. Sy het swart hare en ‘n melkwit vel. Sy soek ‘n
tattoeëermerk op haar skouer van ‘n roos met dorings
kry. Rudi dink hy is te mak vir Lize. Sy hou van rowwe
ouens.
Chapter 1 - Happy Birthday, Dear Rudi
It’s Rudi’s birthday and he shows his friends Lize and Steven his new videocamera that he got
for his birthday. Rudi is excited about it, but Steven thinks it’s stupid because people can take
videos with smartphones.
Rudi struggles to get a girlfriend. He doesn’t know why: he isn’t ugly and he plays rugby. Rudi
likes Lize. She has black hair and milky skin. She wants to get a tattoo of a rose with thorns on
her shoulder. Rudi thinks he is too tame for Lize. She likes rough guys.

Hoofstuk 2 - Wat was dit met Steven?
Laat daardie aand kyk Rudi televisie. Hy het baie koek en
lekkernye daardie dag geëet. Hy speel vleuel in rugby en sal
maklik die gewig kan afskud. Hy moet vinnig kan hardloop
daarvoor.
Rudi dink aan Steven se vreemde gedrag. Hy stuur vir Lize ‘n
boodskap om te vra wat hom makeer het. Sy antwoord dat hy
dalk net jaloers op Rudi was. Rudi weet dat Steven arm is en nie
groot geskenke kry nie.
Chapter 2 - What was it with Steven?
Late that evening, Rudi watches television. He ate a lot of cake and desserts that day. He plays
wing in rugby and will easily shake the extra weight. He must be able to run fast for that
position.
Rudi thinks about Steven’s strange behaviour that day. He sends Lize a message to ask what
bothered him. She answers that he was probably just jealous of Rudi. Rudi knows that Steven is
poor and doesn’t get big gifts.
Hoofstuk 3 - Die Plan
Steven is in ‘n goeie bui die volgende oggend. Hy skep vir hom baie koek en tert in vir ontbyt.
Rudi kan nie nog koek weerstaan nie. Steven dink hulle moet videos maak om die videokamera
uit te toets. Hy wonder waar Riana, Rudi se suster, is. Sy ideë vir ‘n video is om Riana met
klappers wat Steven by sy broeksak uithaal skrik te maak en dit af te neem.
Chapter 3 - The Plan
Steven is in a good mood the following morning. He dishes himself a lot of cake and tart for
breakfast. Rudi can’t stand any more cake. Steven thinks they should make videos to test out
