Week 2 Discussion Leadereship styles and
personality types

C Leaders and Dr. Hudson,
After completing the personality test and leadership assessment I do feel that they were both
pretty accurate and interesting. The leadership assessment I scored a 5 in the people category and
5.6 in the task category. This placed me directly in the middle of authoritarian leader and team
leader. After reading the description of both, I would say it is quite accurate. For the most part I
feel as though I am a team leader, and I always tries to be positive and lead by example even in
the toughest times. I do find that I can be a little authoritarian when there are tasks to be
completed properly and there is a goal that is needed to be completed.
The HumanMetrics Jung typology discovered that I am ISFJ, introvert(41%), sensing (31%),
feeling (41%), and judging(25%) there is a moderate preference of introversion to
extroversion(41%), moderate preference of sensing over intuition(31%), moderate preference of
feeling over thinking(41%) and a moderate preference of judging over perceiving(25%)
[ CITATION Dis21 \l 1033 ], I found this to be accurate. I tend to stay mostly to myself, I have a
small group of family and friends that I associate with and are very loyal to, I would prefer to
stay to myself rather than to be around a large group of people. I enjoy my alone and quite time. I
do find many of the traits for ISFJ throughout my home and work life. I have always felt that it is
easier for me to complete a task myself than to delegate it and feel as if it isn’t done correctly. I
am terrible at delegating tasks to others but since becoming a charge nurse I have become better
at it, another characteristic of an ISFJ is they don’t like to be the center of attention especially
when they are being recognized for their accomplishments, this is completely me, I would rather
just go about my day and complete me work. Career that are typical for ISFJ people are:
teaching, social work, some religious work, nursing, and administration. I makes me feel good
that I chose a career in nursing, maybe it was just destiny for my personality type.

Dr. Hudson,
I am not sure that I would change the way that I am or the way that I lead, even though it says
50/50 on team leader/authoritarian I would say that I lead more on the team leadership style. I am
task and time oriented, but I always encourage my staff to come to me if they need help with any
of their work, I always welcome questions because they may not understand completely what is
