11.AlcoholAlcohol levert energie.
Alcohol hoeft niet te worden afgebroken in maagdarmkanaal maar kan direct worden geresorbeerd. Na 5min is
er alcohol in bloed.
Voedsel in de maag geeft vertragende werking op resorptie alcohol.
Sterk alcoholische dranken blijven langer in de maag.
5 – 10% van geresorbeerde alcohol wordt onveranderd via huid, longen en urine uitgescheiden. De rest wordt
afgebroken in de lever.
1 gram alcohol is 7kcal.
Aceetaldehyde is toxisch en is belangrijke oorzaak van klachten na hoog alcoholgebruik.
11.1 Alcohol en gezondheid
Voor 18jaar alcoholgebruik afgeraden.
Niet meer dan 10 standaardeenheden (10g alcohol) per week wordt aanbevolen.
Verschillende dagen per week geen alcohol drinken.
Hoge Gezondheidsraad wil verbod op bingedrinking (= consumptie van meer dan 4 glazen door vrouwen en 6

Alcohol geeft vanaf leeftijd van mannen 40 jaar en bij vrouwen vanaf menopauze bescherming tegen bepaalde
ziekten. Dit geld niet voor jongeren.
Alcohol verhoogt risico op mond-, keel-, strottenhoofd- en slokdarmkanker, evenals borstkanker bij vrouwen en
dikkedarmkanker bij mannen.
11.3 Alcoholgehalte in het bloed
Pure alcohol wordt verdeeld over totale hoeveelheid lichaamsvocht. Dit verschilt bij mannen en vrouwen.
Alcohol vermindert kwaliteit van slaap.
Hoofdpijn bij kater, alcohol is vochtafdrijvend.
