Job discrimination is not a "thing of the past”, it is something that plays a role in our society
today. Because of the type of jobs that are needed, business ethics is seldom used. It's is a
prevalent problem many people face today. Some jobs require a person to be physically fit and
others require nothing at all. Yet, people continue to face discrimination.
In this article, I will highlighted job discrimination in terms of a gender preference, and equality
in the workforce. I will also explain the issue and how it significantly impacts the overall moral
and relationships within an organization. I was also provide a resolution on how companies can
approach this situation in order to obtain a better approach and alleviate some of the negative
feed back many organizations face today.
The issue
Workplace discrimination causes a great deal of frustration among many. It is a sore
subject that is somewhat taboo to speak about at a job because of its level of unwanted attention
awkwardness. People need to address this issue because it still takes place today. Although
discrimination is against the law violating the Civil Rights Act of 1964, employers still manager
to slither ways around things blaming it on a person job competency rather than coming
forthright. For example, studies have shown that men that are in the same position as women are
still found to be paid more than woman. Both have the same educational background and similar
job history. Overall, women who were full-time, year-round employees made 82.3 cents for
every dollar men made in 2019, based on median earning data from the Census Current
Population Survey. That means women are paid 17.7% less than men, earning $10,157 less than
