ANTH100: Introduction to Anthropology
Studying archeological sites allows for a glimpse into how humanity lived in the
past. The site being discussed is located near the southern portion of Texas in a large
structure containing several rooms which have an abundance of artifacts. Currently the focus
is on one room that seems to have artifacts that may have been very important. The room is
twenty feet by twelve feet and contains artifacts made from metal, plastic, paper, glass,
cloth, and wood. The site seems to have been inhabited by people who left behind
many[ CITATION Mag10 \l 1033 ] belongings. One side of the room appears to have
different types of furniture and the other contains boxes of varying sizes filled with an
abundance of artifacts. The smallest find could play a key role in understanding what
humans may have done in these rooms and why.
One of the interesting finds is a small black rectangular box. This box is five inches
long two inches wide and half an inch thick. It appears to be made of metal and plastic and
weighs only about one pound. The front has a small square button located near the bottom.
Just under this button are four small holes that have small clear plastic in them. The backside
has two metal prongs located at the top which fold out to sit perpendicular to the box. Each
metal prong has one small hole in it near the tip. Both long sides and one of the short sides
of the box contain nothing other than a small line that appears to be where the box could be
