Favorite subject is one that you can enjoy without being bored. Every
individual has their interest and it differs from person to person. My favorite
subject is Criminal Justice. I know it is quite different but this subject has always
attracted me the most. Among different topics like race and crime, social class and
crime, I’ve chosen Racism in the US Criminal justice system. One of the most
difficult areas of American legal and political history has been the combination of
Race and Crime. For much of the twentieth century, crime and punishment have
delivered some of the most powerful signs of racial division in America. There are
30% of colored people in America, but they account for 60% of those who are in
lock-up. There are indications that black people receive crueler treatment from
decision-makers at each stage of the criminal justice practice.
After seeing Obama on the presidential seat, we can say that we live in a
color-blind country. But in schools, students of color, especially “black” boys are
harshly disciplined by administrators as compared to “white” students. In
workplaces, white-people receive more positive feedback as compare to black
people. Class and race play an important role in our society. A person in a society
is usually being judged according to his race, color, or class. In our society race
