First Prevention Effort of Law Enforcement
According to the Romeoville police department the way they educate victims on preventing
sexual abuse is by informing victims that they shouldn’t drink or do drugs because what it does is it
lowers the ability to take care of themselves and aren’t able to make reasonable decisions to where
someone can take advantage of them without consent. Also, they stated that trusting your gut is very

Second Prevention Effort of Law Enforcement
According to the Chicago police department the prevention efforts they take for victim safety is
that they have a sex offender registry which is called a CLEARMAP. It’s a web application that allows
people to use the database to see what sexual offenders live in the Chicagoland area. The CLEARMAP
