Personal Leadership Philosophy
While the consensus in healthcare is the need for improved leadership, there are no

CliftonStrengths assessment results, my core values, personal mission, and vision statement. This
paper further discusses the two key behaviors that I would benefit from strengthening and my
development plan to improve as a nurse leader.
Leadership Core Values and Mission Statement
Broome and Marshall (2021) emphasize the critical core values required to be an
effective leader. These core values include respect, accountability, communication, and
teamwork. Core values are the fundamental principles and guiding ideologies that dictate a nurse
leader's actions and performance. As a nurse leader, the mutual respect of oneself and others is a
fundamental value necessary to treat others with dignity, empathy, and compassion (Raso, 2020).
Additionally, communication is a foundational value to support successful leadership. The
practice and demonstration of open, clear communication can inspire, persuade, and earn others'
confidence and provide feedback to facilitate effective leadership (Hofmeyer et al., 2020).
According to Raso (2020), leadership values are a leader’s platform, legacy, and the
