popular beverages to drink and these days the choice is usually about personal
preference. They both contain caffeine and they both taste really good but is
one healthier for you? Coffee and Tea have similar health benefits, but they
also have differences.
Over 5,000 years ago tea was discovered in China. It was very popular and spread
to Japan then became a sought-after drink in Buddhism after the monks discovered
that the tea could help them concentrate which made for better focus during
religious ceremonies. In the 1500s coffee was founded by Muslims who began
drinking coffee instead of wine. There were many objections to coffee especially
to the Muslims who believed coffee to be evil. It wasn’t until the 1600s when Pope
Clement said coffee was okay to drink, that people took their word and started
drinking it.
Tea and coffee may look and taste different, but they have many things in
common: for example, they both can give you energy, however, the energy comes
with different timing. Coffee has a faster effect because of its caffeine content
while energy from tea is sustained over time. Because of the speedy effects of
coffee some physicians advise drinking coffee before becoming active
for an energy boost. Tea is recommended to drink with a healthy breakfast to
help maintain the right energy throughout the day.
Studies have shown that coffee acts as a protectant against developing liver
cancer. Moderate coffee consumption can reduce the risk of developing types of
liver cancer, and this is probably due to the caffeine which is good for the heart.
