Type 2 diabetes has been a steadily rising problem in the economy for decades. Factors

Research Article
Background Introduction
This study aimed to measure the outcome of self-management education in Type
2 diabetes. This study specifically measured for improvements in blood sugars whether they
were fasting, postprandial 2-hour, or HbA1c levels. The values were measured before and after 2
in-depth education sessions about diabetes in the intervention group compared to basic diabetic
education in the controlled group.
Methodology
The study used an experimental approach. It involved 2 groups with a count of 30
participants in each group. The groups were separated into a control group and an intervention
group. Both groups were given diabetic education for 2 days that lasted a total of 45 minutes.
The control group was presented with basic diabetic education. The intervention group was given
the same education as the control group and another more in-depth education session that catered
to the individual learning needs of the intervention group.

According to the JHNEBP model, this reflects a level 1 research article as it is a single-
blinded qualitative research study.
