Group “Proud Boys”. In this paper it is going to describe the group, its mission, and its
message furthermore it will discuss the impact and protected class populations it has
target and incidents for which it has been responsible. I will include an analysis with
methods of prevention, intervention, and treatment human service workers could apply to
mitigate the group’s impact.
The group, its mission and its message
The Proud Boys was founded in 2016 by Vice Media co-founder Gavin McInnes.
The Proud Boys is far-right group and a self-described “western chauvinistic” the FBI has
listed them as a white supremacist hate group. (Levy & Ailworth, 2021)
The Proud Boys mission is to promote white western values the group started very small
and it grew into a structured organization. The Proud Boys were linked to the Ku Klux
Klan the Klan group has dropped massively that now you hear about alternative hate
groups that makes the Klan membership obsolete.
