Food Policies
Outside Food Policy
The Outside Food Policy for the Center is that all food brought into the center must be
peanut and tree nut free to avoid cross contamination with the other children’s lunches and foods.
“If you see your allergen featured in one of the above ways, it means the allergen is present in
the food. Manufacturers must list an FALCPA-regulated allergen even if the amount is very
small.” (FARE, 2020) Parents need to vigilant when they look at the labels on the foods, they
buy so we can avoid cross contamination at the center.
Birthday Treats Food Policy
Any Birthday treat brought into the classroom for a child’s birthday is that the food needs
to be store bought and made in a peanut and tree nut free facility. If possible, a gluten free option
