Part 2: Communication Plan
Effective communication is our goal this year with all the families that attend our school. This year our school district will be using a web-based site called Operoo. This is a free service for families and allows the school to share important information such as changes to classrooms, school calendar, our district newsletters, any group meetings and more. Within this site your student’s individual teachers can and will send weekly newsletters informing families of what has happened that week in class as a whole. As a school district we will also use an app called Remind. This too is a free service to parents and allows the school to send immediate messages to parents such as a snow day, or a last-minute change to the schedule. Teachers and parents are also able to send private messages back and forth regarding their child/student.
We do understand that not all families have access to the internet or smart phones.
Please notify the office and your child’s teacher so we can adjust our communications with you. Each grade level teacher will have their own way to communicate that meets these family’s needs. For our first graders the teacher will be sending home our green 2
