Comcast Corporation

Executive Summary

Comcast Corporation is a major American provider of cable television, entertainment,

and communications products and services. Comcast headquarters are in Philadelphia,

Pennsylvania. Comcast was founded in 1963 as a small cable system in Tupelo, Mississippi.

(Comcast, n.d.) Comcast isn’t just a cable company anymore. Comcast is well diversified and

manages three different divisions spanning nine different business kinds through 20 other

reporting units. “The company owns theme parks, a television network (NBC), a movie studio

(Universal), a cable television service (Xfinity), a broadband service under the same name, a new

streaming platform (Peacock), and more.” (Brumley, 2020) Comcast is also wading into the

mobile-phone business and home security.

Comcast's vision statement is as Comcast evolves, we continue to look to the future –

seeking out new communications technology, new opportunities, and more choices. We want to

continue to provide people with the communications products and services that connect them to

what’s important in their lives. (Comcast Mission, 2020) Comcast is always looking ahead.

Comcast acquired NBC and Universal back in 2011, melding a TV and movie outfit to distribute

video entertainment. Peacock is a new streaming service that makes hundreds of NBC TV

shows and Universal films available for free. Comcast is not just a cable company anymore;

they are much more. Comcast has solid financials overall, with revenue growth has been

consistent and dependable. In the last three years, we see a growth from the lower left to the

upper right, and that’s a trend we like to see.
