employee sick leave. He must first define the goal. This goal should be a clear outcome, such as

authority to make the goal happen, a reasonable time frame to complete the task, and the proper

resources such as team members, money, equipment, and any information that could help in

completing the goal. Next VP Philip Thomas and the selected employee should schedule

checkpoints to review the progress made. VP Philip Thomas should not have to stay on the

project in order for the project to be completed but he must be made aware of the progress made

to ensure the project will meet the deadlines set by his superiors. Another benefit is that this
