Teachers now have various ways of educating students in a classroom. Since technology

has taken a rise in the learning environment, teachers now have different learning tactics to teach

new units and concepts. There are many ways to reach children of all learning styles such as

gaming. Gaming is used as a wayto design and support assessments.Gaming supports the

constructive effects on students and teachers who participate in the gaming world. Within this

paper I will speak on the positive influence’s gamification can have on teaching and learning. I

will also discuss how it can be used for motivation and support for differentiated learning.



Gamification Influences

There are many influences gamifications can have on a student’s learning and teachers

teaching style. Students drive can increase as they see themselves moving up into different levels

on a game. In the video Jane McGocialstated that gaming can make a better world, she stated

that gaming offers a strong social relationship leading to more happiness and creating a

constructive classroom environment. Just as some don’t understand the important of play

through early learning which enforces learning as well, some peoplemay have a negative opinion

of playing video games, especially in a learning environment. Some may feel students aren’t

actually learning. It is important to showcase the influences on gaming. Gaming can help

develop imagination, empathy, and problem-solving skills. When students hold skills as such, it

will allow them to work well in groups activities by using technology. As educators gaming can

prepare students with their ability to seek out new evidence and being able to teach themselves

without the use of teachers (Knowledge Delivery Systems, 2013).
